Target audience: Therapists working in the area of psychiatry who moderate stabilisation groups as well as people suffering from mental disorders can use this book as a self-help manual.
Content:
This handbook imparts stabilisation techniques for people with mental disorders and gives suggestions to help in coping with emerging acute crises. The material has been developed for groups in the areas of inpatient and ambulant psychiatric treatment. Aside from clinical environments it can be used in supervised housing or for self-help. The theoretical basis for stabilisation groups is Marsha Linehan’s dialectic behavioural therapy, which is supplemented by Luise Reddemann’s imagination-exercises and elements from euthymic therapy (positive experience training).
